Power
You can kick up the most dust in the 2019 Honda Ridgeline. Every Ridgeline trim gets the same engine – a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. If you’re looking for a little extra traction to get you down dirt roads, all-wheel drive is available for the Ridgeline. Back on the 2019 Toyota Tacoma, there are two engine options. The base engine is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder that spits out 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. If you want power similar to the Ridgeline, you have to pay extra for the Tacoma’s optional 3.5-liter V6. It supplies 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. It’s powerful, but still not quite as powerful as the Ridgeline.
Performance
On road and off, the 2019 Honda Ridgeline stands apart from competitors with its superior ride and handling capabilities. Unlike other midsize trucks, the Ridgeline features an independent rear suspension for smooth cruising. If you plan to navigate a lot of sharp corners, winding roads, or just prefer a really comfortable ride to work, the Ridgeline has what it takes. The Ridgeline’s sophisticated all-wheel-drive system is another high point. The system’s multi-surface traction options provide an optimal performance wherever you plan to travel. Back on the Tacoma, you’ll find optional four-wheel drive performance technology. While it’s great off-road, it’s not quite as smooth and modern as what the Ridgeline has to offer.
Interior Space and Comfort
Once again, the Ridgeline takes an easy lead. Its four-door crew cabin is perfect for both hauling your work buddies to the job site and bringing the entire family to Disney World. Inside, the Ridgeline is nothing but spacious. This truck also offers six trim models, so you can tailor your ride to include as much luxury as you’re willing to pay for. In the 2019 Toyota Tacoma, you can get either an extended or crew cabin. Unfortunately, though, not everyone wants to pay extra to get the premium backseat space that’s available in the crew cabin.
