Spaciousness
Frankly, the MDX isn't as big as the Pilot. The Honda has about 20 cubic feet more space for passengers, and it seats up to eight. Although it has a three-row set-up, the MDX seats seven. When you choose the available second-row captain's chairs, the MDX seats six, and the Pilot seats seven. Furthermore, a Pilot has a slightly bigger cargo hold than its rival.
Premium vs. Luxury
The Pilot is well known for its durability and quality. Handsome materials are used to cover the seats and decorate the cabin. The MDX has AcuraWatch, while the Pilot has Honda Sensing. These are the same basic features, although the Pilot is still saving you money on the base model. A Collision Mitigation Braking System has a forward collision warning to tell you when traffic is slowing. It also has an autobrake just in case you can't stop the Pilot in time. Paired with these systems and low-speed follow, Adaptive Cruise Control makes it easy to handle your busy commute. Road Departure Mitigation is an exclusive system found only on Hondas and Acuras.
