The 2018 Honda Accord and the 2018 Hyundai Sonata appeal to consumers who want a vehicle that offers both reliable and affordability. The two models are infused with a high level of design, but the 2018 Honda Accord has the upper hand for its powerful inline-4 engine and its long wheelbase, which is a part of the most dramatic redesign of the Honda Accord.

Both the 2018 Honda Accord and the 2018 Hyundai Sonata offer spacious interiors, but the Accord provides the best rear legroom, rear shoulder room, trunk volume, and front shoulder room. The driver's seat offers a high level of comfort with front seats that can be heated or cooled. The steering wheel also includes thumb rests and paddle shifters.

The 2018 Hyundai Sonata is extremely spacious and includes leather seats with a sunroof. The touch screen panel is easy to use but is located above a significant amount of buttons that can cause the dash to appear more cluttered than the Accord.

The 2018 Honda Accord offers the most variety with how the shifts are handled and provides the driver with the option to drive with a six-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission. The Accord also leads in torque with 273 pound-feet versus 252 from previous years, but the Sonata is built with a revised eight-speed automatic that matches the sleek exterior design of the 2018 model.

All Accords also come with a two-mode driving option and will allow you to choose the Sport or Normal setting. They also offer more features that are available to reduce the risk of a collision compared to the Sonata. Drivers can also take advantage of driver-assistance technology that includes Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Driver Awareness Monitors, and Collision Mitigation Braking System.

The Sonata offers fewer features than the Accord, but the options that are available are impressive and increase the driver's level of safety. The model includes lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and automated emergency braking. The vehicle is quiet inside of the comfortable cabin but the steering doesn't offer as much feedback as the Accord.

Standard Vehicle Options

Not only does the 2018 Honda Accord look sporty with its exterior, but it also offers LED head and fog lights. Ventilated front seats and a large color screen are also included. It even comes with steering wheel volume control, which is easy to control with a swipe of your thumb.

The standard vehicle options in the Sonata are similar to the Accord and include wireless charging for your smartphone, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a hands-free smart trunk, and heated and ventilated front seats.
