With electrified vehicles becoming more and more common around Fairfax, you might be considering a switch to a hybrid compact SUV. While we at Honda of Chantilly have no qualms recommending the 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid to you, we thought our suggestion would be more persuasive if we demonstrated its superiority over a top contender. So, without further ado, here’s a comparison between it and the 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid!

Performance

In terms of performance, there are a number of similarities between the CR-V Hybrid and RAV4 Hybrid. Underneath the hood, both have a standard 2.0L 4-cylinder engine working together with two electric motors. Furthermore, they each offer an AWD system, called Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control™ for the Honda and Electronic On-Demand AWD for the Toyota. There is a slight variation in power output, with the Toyota making 219 combined net horsepower, slightly more than the Honda’s 204 total system horsepower1. However, the CR-V Hybrid takes the lead when it comes to the specification that matters most for a partially electrified vehicle, which is fuel economy. While it nets a 43/36/40 MPG city/hwy/combined2 mileage grade across trim levels, the RAV4 Hybrid lags behind in urban driving scenarios and combined mileage, scoring 41/38/39 MPG city/hwy/combined3

Technology

Not only does the 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid promise more savings at the gas station than the 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, but it also has the options to make your trips to Nottoway Park more enjoyable. First up, it offers up to 12 available speakers including a subwoofer, making sure any road noise can be drowned out with immersive music. A true audiophile is sure to notice the difference made by one less speaker being available in the Toyota. If you have any guests on board, accommodating their device charging needs will be more convenient in the CR-V Hybrid as well, since three USB charging ports are standard as opposed to the RAV4 Hybrid’s two. Plus, the Toyota SUV comes with a standard 8-inch touchscreen on all but the highest trim, while a 9-inch variant is available on the Honda across all model grades except the base.

Cabin

We’d be remiss not to go over how the CR-V Hybrid’s cabin compares to that of the RAV4 Hybrid. Both come with two rows of seats where up to five can settle down. The back row on each can also be lowered to expand the cargo area, with the Honda model offering 76.5 cubic ft.4 of space behind the front chairs. Meanwhile, the Toyota falls a bit short with 69.8 cubic ft. of equivalent space. Hence, even when heading to Army Navy Golf Club with a group of friends, fitting everyone’s equipment in the trunk will be less of a challenge with the CR-V Hybrid. If you detest driving in cold weather, Honda’s hybrid compact SUV will certainly suit you better, since heated front seats are standard, unlike on the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Come test drive the Honda CR-V Hybrid to experience its dominance firsthand! Our team will be waiting for you during business hours.
