Performance

You'll notice enhanced performance from the 2025 Honda Accord compared to the Hyundai SONATA. The former carries a standard 1.5L turbo 4-cylinder engine that pushes out 192 horsepower¹ and 192 lb.-ft. of torque², making each drive feel energetic. However, the latter vehicle has a standard 2.5L 4-cylinder powertrain that produces 191 horsepower¹ and 181 lb.-ft. of torque², meaning that you'll have less robust travels. An upgrade is needed with the SONATA in order to obtain a more powerful, optional engine. It's easy to conserve fuel with the Honda model since it nets out a 29/37/32 MPG city/hwy/combined³ fuel economy rating. If you choose the Hyundai vehicle for your commutes in Fairfax, it offers similar levels of fuel efficiency with its 28/38/32 MPG city/hwy/combined⁴ grade. However, when you accelerate down Route 29 with the Accord’s standard Continuously Variable Transmission, you'll notice less lag compared to the SONATA’s standard 8-speed automatic transmission. 

Exterior 

Let's give the outer shell of each vehicle a closer look to show how the 2025 Honda Accord stands out in this area. It's possible to obtain standard LED headlights with either model, making it easy to traverse town at midnight. The Hyundai model offers seven colors with the base trim compared to the five offered with the starting iteration of the Accord. Despite this, however, the Honda model lets you stand more elevated on the road with a set of standard 17-inch silver-painted alloy wheels. Unfortunately, the Hyundai model doesn't stand out as much with its standard 16-inch alloy versions, requiring you to upgrade for larger iterations. Plus, the Honda vehicle offers available body-side molding, meaning that the exterior is better protected from scratches. After parking at Hidden Pond Nature Center, you’ll worry less about swinging doors from neighboring cars. However, you won't find the accessory with the SONATA vehicle.

Interior

Finally, you'll enjoy the interior amenities of the Honda Accord more than in the SONATA while completing your drives to work. This is because it offers an available 10-way power-adjustable driver’s chair while the Hyundai vehicle has an optional 8-way version. Not only do you have more ways to customize your seat, but you also obtain extra breathing space in the Accord because of the 105.7 cubic ft. of passenger volume. However, you might feel more cramped in the Hyundai car with its 104.4 cubic ft. of space.
