The 2023 Honda Accord is on its way, and Honda of Chantilly will be on the front lines to receive one of the most anticipated midsize sedans. If you’ve missed the news, there’s no need to worry because we’ve created an overview to tell you all about this ride. Additionally, we’ll be comparing the Accord to the 2023 Toyota Camry, a known rival of our brand. Let’s continue to learn more.

The Engine

Upon opening the hood of the 2023 Accord and Camry, you’ll notice that they have different powertrains. The Toyota Camry has a 2.5L 4-cylinder motor that kicks out 202 horsepower and 182 lb.-ft. of torque, but the Honda Accord sports a 1.5L turbo 4-cylinder engine 192 horsepower¹ and 192 lb.-ft. of torque². While the Camry contains an 8-speed automatic transmission, the Accord is engineered with a Continuously Variable Transmission. These factors also contribute to the fuel economy of both rides. If you’re looking for the most efficient out of the two vehicles, then the Accord is the better sedan to travel along Monument Drive because it can commute three miles more than the Camry without burning any gas.

Drivetrain and Tires

When you invest in the 2023 Honda Accord, you’ll receive a standard FWD, a drive type that’s also in the 2023 Toyota Camry. This mechanism provides dependable traction along Interstate 66. Plus, FWD doesn’t use as much energy, an element that both cars share. They also come with standard configurations, allowing you to switch driving styles as you traverse around Chantilly, VA, and beyond. You’ll also find that the Accord and Camry have the same standard wheel size, which is 17-inch alloy wheels and all-season tires. If you’re interested in a higher trim level, you can opt for 19-inch alternatives, which our Parts Department can provide if necessary. Regardless of the equipment, it’s fair to say that these rides are exceptionally reliable.

Hybrid Capability

If you’re looking forward to the hybrid versions of the Honda Accord, you won’t be disappointed. The 2023 Accord carries a 2.0L 4-cylinder Atkinson and two-motor hybrid system, which generates 204 net horsepower³ and 247 lb.-ft. of torque⁴. Meanwhile, the 2023 Camry exhibits 208 net horsepower and 149 lb.-ft. of torque. While these two vehicles are neck and neck when it comes to overall strength, the Accord towers over the Camry in torque. Each sedan also has a standard drive mode like the all-gasoline counterparts, allowing you to adjust operator styles while cruising along U.S. Route 50.
