Perhaps the most thrilling aspect of any vehicle is the performance that awaits underneath its hood. Fortunately, you’ll receive plenty of it in the Honda Civic. Boasting a peppy 158 horsepower and 138 lb.-ft. of torque, its standard 2.0L 4-cylinder powertrain will speed you through your morning commutes. In the Nissan Sentra, you’ll be given a standard 1.8L 4-cylinder engine that produces a mere 130 horsepower and 128 lb.-ft. of torque. You don’t have to upgrade far to obtain more speed is the Civic, as it has an available 1.5L 4-cylinder powertrain, which generates a mighty 174 horsepower and 167 lb.-ft. of torque. While the 2017 Sentra does offer a 1.6L 4-cylinder powertrain that exudes 188 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque, you’ll only find it on the SL model, which means you’ll have to shell out more cash to get it. When it comes to efficiency, the 2017 Civic beats out the 2017 Sentra once again by providing you with a fuel efficiency rating of 28/39/32 MPG city/hwy/combined1. The Sentra, on the other hand, only gives you a fuel rating of 27/35/30 MPG city/hwy/combined2.

Now let’s take a peek inside each of these compact sedans to see what technology each one has to offer. At its base model, the Civic possesses a 5-inch central display, which gives you access to a rearview camera3. Because the Nissan Sentra does not have a screen of any kind, it also lacks its rearview monitor4 in the base model. What’s more, the biggest screen available in the Sentra is a 5-inch touchscreen, whereas the Civic boasts an optional 8-inch touchscreen. It doesn’t matter if you have an Android™ or Apple® smartphone because the Honda Civic lets you connect to them on-the-go using Apple CarPlay™5 and Android Auto™6. Both of these features allow you to receive text messages, place phone calls, and even play music from customized playlists. Unfortunately, you’ll miss out on both of these amenities in the Nissan Sentra.

The last category that we will explore is safety, which is an area of the utmost importance. Coming standard on the Civic’s second trim level is Honda LaneWatch™7. When you turn on your right signal to move over a lane on Interstate 66, a small camera will turn on and display live video on your touchscreen. The best the Sentra can offer is its optional Blind Spot Warning system8, which does not include a camera and is not available until its third trim level. Another feature that does not quite measure up is the Sentra’s Forward Emergency Braking9. While it’s very similar to the Civic’s Collision Mitigation Braking System™10, it only available as part of a package, whereas the this feature comes stnadard on the Civic's top trim level.

Honda of Chantilly really understands and provides excellent customer service. Immediately upon arrival at the service area, Kent Fagani, the service advisor came out and found out what service I was there for. Within just a few minutes, my car was taken for service. Kent was highly professional and explained everything completely. He told me he would contact me when my car was ready. The fact that they have late hours for drop off and pick up is a real plus. They even wash the car. The car service is really good. Kent contacted me when my car was ready. Which was fairly quickly. I couldn’t pick up my car until the next day. Kent saw me and came over to say hello. I was surprised that he would remember me since it was the next day and lots of customers come and go. He said if I was not completely satisfied to let him know. That is the sign of a true professional focused on quality service.
