Let’s Talk Performance

The Prologue saw some upgrades for the 2025 model year, including getting some extra horsepower. A more powerful electric motor now sits up front, increasing horsepower for front-wheel drive models to 220* and working with the rear-mounted motor for all-wheel drive models to deliver 300 horsepower*.

The ID.4 is different because it comes with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Rear-wheel drive models use one motor that delivers 282 horsepower, while all-wheel drive models add another motor to bring horsepower to 330.

Inside the Battle: Tech Features of the 2025 Honda Prologue vs. VW ID.4

When you take a seat in the Prologue, you’ll be greeted with an 11.3-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. It comes loaded with a Google-based infotainment system and uses wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ to sync your phone. Need to charge your phone? Just place it on the charging pad.

The Volkswagen ID.4 also has a large touchscreen. The 12-inch display has Apple CaPlay® and Android Auto™, but instead of a familiar Google-based system, it has VW’s infotainment software. Navigation comes standard, along with a wireless charging pad.

Safety Comes Standard No Matter Which Way You Turn

The Honda Sensing® suite of advanced driver aids is an impressive bundle of systems. It includes systems such as frontal collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. A blind-post steering intervention system will steer you back into your lane if you try to change lanes when someone is in your blind spot.

IQ.DRIVE is what Volkswagen calls its safety suite. It’s also a comprehensive bundle with lane-keeping assist, forward collision mitigation, blind-spot warning, and adaptive cruise control. It also includes parking sensors that will alert you if you get too close to another vehicle when you’re pulling into a parking spot.
